Overview Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US
Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Welding Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.
\n - Responsible for repair and maintenance of all manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment:
\n - Repair and maintenance of all oxygen/propane, oxygen/acetylene burning, preheat, and related equipment
\n - Repair and maintenance of all mold in place equipmentRepair and maintenance of magna drills, boring bars and related equipment
\n - Repair and maintenance of hydraulic jacks, pumps, and associated equipment
\n - Work conditions may include confined spaces
\n - Security clearance to enter all areas of the shipyard (CIA) is required
\n - Must be able to work until the end of the normal scheduled shift hours
\n - Must have the ability to distinguish between colors for the purpose of performing the job
\n

Qualifications Required: \n - High School Diploma, GED, be a current High School Senior, OR have 2+ years of related technical experience
\n - 1-5 years of repair and maintenance experience of all manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment
\n - Security clearance to enter all areas of the shipyard (CIA) is required
\n - Must be able to work until the end of the normal scheduled shift hours
\n - Must have the ability to distinguish between colors for the purpose of performing the job
\n

Preferred: \n - 3 - 5 years of experience repair and maintenance experience of all manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment
\n - 1+ years of PC background experience in parts and equipment ordering and tool tracking issues/collection
\n
