Join our innovative team of educational professionals providing critical sign language interpretation services in virtual learning environments. We're looking for a skilled interpreter to support deaf and hard of hearing students in achieving their full academic potential through remote education platforms.

Position Overview

This remote interpreting position involves delivering comprehensive sign language interpretation services for students participating in virtual educational programs. You'll work with cutting-edge educational technology to facilitate seamless communication between students, teachers, and educational support teams across various academic disciplines.

Weekly Commitment : 35-37.5 hours Student Caseload : 20-30 students in virtual classroom environments Academic Levels : Elementary through High School with focus on middle grades Service Delivery : Live virtual interpretation using secure, FERPA-compliant platforms

Essential Duties

• Provide accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during virtual educational sessions
• Ensure student understanding and engagement in online learning activities
• Adapt interpretation style to match student age groups and subject matter complexity
• Work closely with virtual classroom teachers to maximize accessibility and learning outcomes
• Document interpretation services and communicate relevant student needs to educational teams
• Contribute to IEP development and review processes through virtual meeting participation
• Maintain professional communication with students, families, and educational staff

Minimum Requirements

• EIPA Certification : 3.5 score required for consideration
• School-Based Experience : Minimum 2 years in educational interpreting settings
• Technical Skills : Proficiency with virtual platforms and educational software applications
• Communication Excellence : Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse educational teams
• Professional Development : Commitment to ongoing skill enhancement and best practices

Preferred Credentials

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
• Written EIPA certification
• RID/NIC certification with written examination component
• Experience with remote or virtual interpretation services
• Knowledge of educational terminology and curriculum standards
