The Validation Test Technician executes the actual product testing per a test plan and OEM Specification. The right candidate will perform testing in both Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Environmental areas. The Validation Test Technician is responsible for an accurate test set-up, data collection, and data reporting. Responsibilities include validation test operation/execution in both Electromagnetic Compatibility and Environmental Lab, full life cycle product test ownership, ensuring accurate test reporting, communication to EMC Test Engineering for approval/notification, direct interaction with product engineers to ensure compliance, maintaining open communication with Validation Engineering to ensure performance of the product, maintaining a clean/safe work environment/area, comfortable working in multi shift environment and the information sharing required to ensure accurate and timely completion between different people working on the same projects. The role requires being process oriented, utilizing prior knowledgebase and sound logic to come to easily defendable conclusions/solutions, and independently driving the project to completion. Good communication skills and flexibility to meet customer requirements which may require adjustment to hours/shift schedule are needed. Basic qualifications include an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automotive Technology or related technical discipline, proficient computer skills with focus on Excel and Word, well organized with ability to function in a multi-task environment, strong written and oral communication skills, ability to plan and organize with attention to detail and follow through, self-starter and able to work independently with reliable daily schedule, and ability to function within a diverse group of team members. Preferred qualifications include iNarte Technician Certification and familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, ARB, Power Supply, oscilloscopes, generators, temperature cycling, thermal shock, humidity, salt fog/spray, etc. Candidates should demonstrate strong professional and technical competence, excellent communication skills, responsibility, self-direction, leadership skills, team player attitude, high maturity, customer focus, excellent technical knowledge and skills, and high motivation. Proven ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems and experience in an EMC Test, Electrical, and/or Environmental Test Laboratory environment are also preferred.
