Outbound (Shipping) Lead - 2nd Shift
American Bolt Corporation is looking for a 2nd Shift Shipping Lead, to join our team. Are you a team player that understands the benefits of collaboration and communication? Do you enjoy being a hands-on, active part of a team?
This Shipping Lead position offers a competitive starting hourly wage of $21-23/hour, with an additional $1.00/hour shift premium for hours worked.
The work schedule for this 2nd shift Lead position is Monday - Friday 11:00 a.m.- 7:30 p.m.; closing duties are part of this role.
AS A 2ND SHIFT OUTBOUND/SHIPPING LEAD, YOU WILL
Tactically:
- Collaborate with the 1st Shift Shipping Lead to understand nightly needs.
- Inspect shipments for UPS, will-call orders, and next morning's routes.
- Coordinate order fill, inspection, and route assembly activities daily with order fill team.
- Load UPS and truck lines.
- Build all routes orders for next morning.
- Collaborate with peers/other Operations Leads/Coordinators and Outbound Material Manager to understand the workload and schedules to manage the shift throughout the day.
- Assist with training/re-training 2nd shift shipping team.
- Complete closing procedures - plug in forklifts, turn light, fans, TVs, computers off and lock all doors.
- Actively communicate with sales and other peers regarding order issues and general questions.
Professionally:
- Comfortable offering positive or improvement feedback to warehouse associates and floats, promptly.
- Be prompt - be on time for meetings, manage your email inbox and calendar, respond to emails and Teams chats quickly and professionally.
- Offer professional input to Outbound Manager for 30, 90, and semi-annual review cycles for 2nd shift employees.
- Set a positive example for attending company events and employee involvement. Encourage employees to be involved.
Technology:
- Actively use company email (Outlook) and calendar (Leads are part of meetings and are expected to attend).
- Add Teams to your computer or cell phone, and promptly respond to chats (internal communication with other departments).
- Check Omnitrac multiple times per day to stay up-to-date on orders.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years' experience in advanced warehouse role; 1 year experience directly or indirectly leading a small team.
- Previous forklift certification (sitdown, standup, scissors lift preferred), or ability to be trained quickly on all lifts if hired into the role.
- Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and the Internet
