Our client is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their Sarasota team and support busy purchasing, supply chain, and logistics operations. Whether you’re a recent graduate in supply chain or logistics, or bring 1-2 years of purchasing or materials procurement experience, this is your chance to contribute to a growing division. You’ll help manage vendor relationships, track pricing for materials and labor, and work closely with a purchasing team of ten professionals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vendor packets and qualifications essential for purchasing and logistics operations
• Manage requests for pricing on materials and labor, ensuring competitive supply chain sourcing
• Revise and update features lists, vendor lists, and design changes to support seamless purchasing workflows
• Keep construction plans and project documents organized and up to date
• Coordinate paperwork and contracts for vendors, ensuring purchasing and procurement accuracy
• Process purchase orders, change orders, and notices to proceed
• Create and maintain contract files for purchasing records
• Research and resolve invoice or purchase order issues tied to supply chain transactions
• Prepare bid packages to support logistics and purchasing processes
• Utilize advanced Excel skills—including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs—to track and analyze purchasing and supply chain data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or a related field required if no prior experience
• OR 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics, or supply chain—especially in materials purchasing or procurement for industries like retail building supplies, construction materials, or home improvement
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, critical for purchasing analysis and reporting
