Job Description

Our client, a leading organization in the agricultural science sector, is seeking a Lab Assistant to join their team. As a Lab Assistant, you will be part of the Protein Analysis Immunochemistry Team supporting various laboratory functions. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Lab Assistant

Location: Johnston, IA

Pay Range: $27.00/hr

What's the Job?

  • Perform sample extraction, total protein quantitation, and immunochemistry assays according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure that all materials necessary for production are prepared properly, on time, and in a safe manner.
  • Record information in electronic notebooks and proprietary software applications, ensuring detailed documentation of lab processes and outcomes.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while continually seeking process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify, test, and implement laboratory software and automation advancements.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with data analysis and analytical software tools is strongly desired.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with problem identification and process improvement.
  • Ability to work well with teams as well as independently.
  • Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills.
