Job Title: General Manager – Automotive Manufacturing (Tier 1, Injection Molding)

Location: Charlotte, MI

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer / CEO

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our clients operations of our Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility, with a strong focus on injection molding processes. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of launching and scaling both greenfield and brownfield sites, driving operational excellence, and achieving aggressive sales growth and profit targets. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire plant operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of manufacturing operations including production, quality, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain.
  • Drive performance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee and execute successful launches of greenfield and brownfield manufacturing facilities, including site selection, staffing, equipment installation, and production ramp-up.
  • Lead injection molding operations and ensure technical excellence in molding processes and tooling.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to increase sales revenue and profitability, working closely with commercial, finance, and business development teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with OEM customers and ensure flawless program launches and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including EHS standards.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across all functions.
  • Develop annual budgets and long-range plans, and monitor financial performance against key targets.
  • Build and mentor high-performing teams; foster a collaborative and accountable workplace culture.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the automotive manufacturing sector, preferably with a Tier 1 supplier.
  • Deep expertise in injection molding and related production technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and managing both greenfield and brownfield manufacturing operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in growing sales, improving margins, and managing multi-million dollar P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement certification is a plus.
