Position Overview
The Cash Applications Specialist will be responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments, researching discrepancies, and ensuring timely application of cash to customer accounts. This role is essential in maintaining accurate accounts receivable records and supporting financial operations for our large and fast-paced company.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to accounts in a timely manner
Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and short/over payments
Collaborate with AR, billing, and customer service teams to resolve account issues
Reconcile daily cash activity and prepare reporting for management
Maintain detailed records of all cash applications and adjustments
Assist with month-end close, audit requests, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or related accounting function
Strong knowledge of payment types and cash application processes
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables a plus)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
