Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include plywood and lumber manufacturing plants, and twenty-three specialty wood product distribution operations, located in eighteen states serving Arizona, North Texas, the eastern US as well as the Caribbean markets.
Hood Plywood, a division of Hood Industries Inc., is seeking a reliable and motivated Bobcat Operator for our Beaumont, MSplywood facility. The primary purpose of this position is to move materials/debris, excavate and perform site preparations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove debris from under or around equipment within the operations area.
- Load and unload materials. Dig and or grade sites for preparation of work to be completed.
- Preform daily checks on bobcat as well as routine maintenance checks.
- Communicate with lead and other members of the team to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues, making necessary adjustments and reporting major problems to the lead for maintenance.
- Adhere to company specifications and guidelines to ensure work is completed to the required standards.
- Assist clean-up crew/team in maintaining operations area, facility grounds and parking areas.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of all personal protective equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned such as (but not limited to) spark/fire watch duties and janitorial tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bobcat operator certification, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a bobcat.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, walk, and stand for most of the work shift.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including at or above shoulder height.
- Willingness to work in tight spaces or where mobility can be limited.
- Able to work in an industrial setting that requires the use of steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
- Willingness to work flexible hours; including nights, holidays, weekend, and overtime as needed.
