Position Summary
The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for managing all assembly/shipping/logistics requirements within the assembly department. This role will manage all personnel, takt time, efficiency and accuracy of all assembled and shipped products. This position is in the Flowery Branch, GA location and reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain assembly line production processes.
- Ensure lines are balanced and staffed appropriately.
- Ensure full-time employees and temporary employees are trained on standard work procedures.
- Schedule and maintain training and cross training initiatives.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed correctly and safely.
- Maintain quality and accurate shipments to customers in accordance with delivery schedules.
- Adhere to schedule attainment to support revenue, OTD, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and enhance productivity.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives with the department such as 5S, Cost reduction, organization.
- Participate/lead Kaizen and Standard work events in the department and maintain the updated structure.
- Lead daily production team meeting(s) and maintain departmental day-to-day production activities, monitor production, and prioritize workflow and schedules to maximize capacity plan for each work cell.
- Manage, recruit and onboard all new talent and direct reports.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree preferred.
- High School Diploma required.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products.
Technical Skills
- Experience leading Kaizen events.
- Industrial Manufacturing Experience.
- Knowledge and experience in 5S initiatives and projects.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with team members.
- Ability to strategize and actively solve problems within the assembly department.
- Experience leading, coaching, and disciplining team members.
