Transform the learning experience for deaf and hard of hearing students through expert sign language interpretation in virtual educational environments. About This Opportunity

Our educational interpreting services focus on creating inclusive virtual learning environments where deaf and hard of hearing students can fully participate in their academic journey. As a remote sign language interpreter, you'll utilize cutting-edge technology to deliver real-time interpretation services, ensuring seamless communication between students, teachers, and educational support teams.

Weekly Schedule : 35-37.5 hours Student Caseload : 18-28 students across multiple virtual classrooms Grade Range : K-12 with emphasis on elementary and middle school levels Service Model : Live virtual interpretation through secure educational platforms

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during virtual classroom instruction
• Support student comprehension and active participation in online learning activities
• Adapt interpretation techniques based on student developmental levels and subject matter complexity
• Collaborate with virtual classroom teachers to optimize accessibility and educational outcomes
• Maintain detailed documentation of interpretation sessions and student engagement patterns
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning processes
• Provide professional insights regarding student communication needs and academic progress

Required Qualifications

• EIPA Certification : Minimum 3.5 score required for consideration
• Educational Experience : 2+ years of interpreting in school-based environments
• Virtual Proficiency : Comfort with online educational platforms and remote communication technology
• Professional Standards : Strong commitment to interpreting ethics and confidentiality protocols
• Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal abilities for working with diverse educational teams

Preferred Credentials

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
• Written EIPA certification
• RID/NIC certification with written examination component
• Previous experience with virtual or remote interpretation services
• Background in educational support or special education environments
